The primary goal of St. Peter Pre-School is to teach children respect for God, themselves, and others while preparing them for kindergarten. As educators we strive to lead our students into exciting new adventures, allow our students to explore a variety of interest areas; and create an attitude of life-long learning. We will challenge the children in the following ways:
Develop positive self-images
Develop basic social skills
Increase independence
Develop trust in adults other than their parent(s)
Learn to be a part of a group
Accept the need to share and cooperate
Respect the rights of others and be responsible
Admission Requirements
St. Peter School operates under the auspices of the Catholic Bishop of Chicago, a corporation sole, the Archdiocese of Chicago and admits students of any race, color, sex, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Our Archdiocesan schools do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, national and ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, loan programs, and other school administered programs.
To ensure the child’s positive adjustment into school and to determine if St. Peter School can meet the unique needs of the child, admission is probationary throughout the first year.
A child entering Pre-School should be three years of age before September 1 to be admitted to Pre-3 and four years of age before September 1 to be admitted to Pre-4. Every child admitted must present a baptismal certificate, a birth certificate, a completed medical examination and dental form, and an up to date immunization record.
Students admitted into Preschool must be potty trained. Training pants and pull-ups are not allowed.
